Banana kofta in appam pan!

Since the time  I have bought this appam pan, I am trying no-oil version of various fried foods in it. So it was kofta’s turn now 🙂

Ingredients:

For Koftas:-

* Banana (raw) – 4 pcs

* Besan (gram flour) – 1-2 tbsp

* Ginger-garlic paste – 1/4 tsp

* Salt – to taste

* Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp

* Green chilli – 1-2 pcs (chopped)

* Oil – few drops

For gravy:-

* Cumin seeds (jeera) – 1/2 tsp

* Onion – 2 pcs (paste)

* Tomato – 2pcs (paste)

* Coriander powder – 1 tbsp

* Cumin seeds powder – 1/2 tsp

* Black pepper powder – 1/4 tsp

* Garam masala – 1/2 tsp

* Salt – to taste

* Turmeric powder – 1 tsp

* Ginger-garlic paste – 1 tsp

* Chilli powder – 1/2 tsp or as per liking

* Chopped coriander leaves – to garnish

* Oil – 1-2 tbsp

 

Method:

* Boil bananas, peel them off and grate them.

* Mix all the ingredients of the kofta except oil.

* Now make kofta in the appam pan with little oil. Keep pressing the koftas, so that they are cooked well from the inside too.

* Now in a kadhai heat up oil.

* Add cumin seeds and let it splutter.

* Now add ginger-garlic paste and cook till its raw smell fades.

* Now add onion paste and cook till brown.

* Add all the dry masalas (except garam masala) and cook till it leaves oil.

* Now add in tomato paste.

* Cook till oils separates.

* Now add garam masala, water and give it a boil.

* Add koftas and chopped coriander leaves.

* Switch off the flame and serve with chapati/roti/rice.
