Chilli Paneer (Chilli Cottage Cheese)

Chilli paneer is one the famous indo-chinese recipes. You can make it dry or with gravy. It goes very well with noodles or fried rice. The dry one can also be used as an starter. Since most of the indo-chinese recipes are fast and easy to cook, so it is. Lets look at the recipe!
* Paneer/Cottage cheese-1 cup (cut into cubes)
* Mixed bell peppers-3/4 cup (diced)
* Onion-1/4 cup (diced)
* Garlic-1-2 tsp (finely chopped)
* Green chillies-1 tsp (finely chopped)
* Oil-1-2 tbsp
* Corn flour-1 tbsp
* Rock salt-1 pinch
* Soy sauce-1-2 tbsp
* Sugar-1/4 tsp
* Salt-to taste
* Tomato sauce-2 tsp (optional)
* Green chilli sauce-1 tsp (optional)
-> Marinate the paneer cubes in rock salt and 1/2-1 tbsp of soy sauce for 10 minutes.
-> In a wok heat up oil.
-> Add chopped garlic and green chillies. Give it a toss.
-> Now add diced bell peppers.
-> Add diced onion. Cook till they turn translucent. Both the bell peppers and onions should be crunchy.
-> Now add salt and water to it.
-> In a bowl, take cornflour and water. Make a smooth paste.
-> Add the cornflour mixture to the wok, a little at a time, and stir continuously to avoid lump formation.
-> Stop adding cornflour mixture when you are satisfied with the gravy consistency.
-> Now add soy sauce, sugar, chilli and tomato sauce.
-> Give it a boil.
-> Add paneer to it. Give it a good mix and switch off the stove.
-> Cover the wok with a lid and wait for 5-10 minutes before serving.
