Palak Raita


I have been eating this raita since childhood. Mom makes superb raita; infact, at our home you will always get raita at lunch time (mostly of cucumber). This spinach raita is also an easy-to-make raita with spinach enhancing its health quotient!


Spinach-1 bunch
Mint leaves (optional)-5-6 nos.
Black salt-to taste
Roasted cumin powder (jeera powder)-2 tsp
Red chilli powder-1/2 tsp
Curd-200 gm


-> Blanch spinach in salted water. You can also steam it if you want.
-> To retain the green colour of spinach, dip the blanched/steam spinach in a bowl of chilled water.
-> Now take out spinach from water and blend it with mint leaves (totally optional) in a blender or mixer.
-> In a bowl beat curd well.
-> Now in the bowl, add black salt, jeera powder and red chilli powder. Mix well.

Serve it as a side dish with lunch or dinner 🙂
