Whole red lentil with beetroot!

Ingredients:

Whole red lentil (sabut masoor dal) – 1 cup
Beetroot (grated) – 1/4 cup
Onion (finely chopped) – 1 tbsp.
Tomato (finely chopped) – 2 tbsp.
Ginger-garlic paste – 1/2 tsp
Cumin seeds – 1/2 tsp
Salt – to taste
Green chilli – 1 tsp or to taste
Turmeric powder – 1 tsp
Oil – 1 tbsp
Cream and chopped coriander leaves – to garnish

Method:

* Pressure cook whole red lentil with beetroot, salt, 1/2 tsp turmeric and little water till 3 whistles.
* In a wok, heat up oil and add cumin seeds.
* Now add ginger-garlic paste.
* After 1 minute, add chopped onion.
* Cook till light brown.
* Now add little turmeric powder and salt.
* Add chopped tomatoes and cook till oil separates.
* Now add the pressure cooked red lentil and beetroot.
* Add water and give 1-2 boil(s).
* Switch off burner and garnish it with cream and chopped coriander leaves.

Serve hot!
